this makes an interesting comparison to the work of another writer who has also written that he 'has no imagination' (note to self: backtrack to find quote(s; also check the other book) & uses memory ('memory'?) instead. Roubaud's project (Project?) feels like a more polished, rigorous version of what's in this book; the Jardin feels raw, unprocessed - but no less charming/'compulsively readable'

whatever i was expecting when i picked this up & maybe not having counted on prior experience w/ other examples of the so-called nouveau roman being instructive (w/r/t what to expect), am pleasantly surprised to find & pleased to report that this has thus far been a sexy, sexy read.
