Wow this book really does not make humans look good at all. At first I just thought how idiotic Lumen came off and how stupidly she spoke was an attempt to give her a unique, sassy voice. Now I see the author tarring all humans with the same brush. I do not think whatever world leader was granted authority to make first contact would behave so inanely. In some ways, it is rather funny, but mostly a little OTT.

Okay I SO do not trust Singing Water. Given the coldness between them....either Cobra is a bad man and Fiercely and Venom don't realize it...or more likely his Ra'Na is a conniving bitch he is not fond of and she is now conniving to somehow take out Lumen because she is jealous. This is not good because Lumen is far too trusting.

Wow, Lumen is really insanely self-absorbed and selfish. She can't put aside her juvenile wants for one day to let her mate, who has been a slave and away from his kin for 13 YEARS, see his family before she decides to play? Not to mention not letting them tell anyone of her pregnancy? sigh
