When a book says is from the male POV I expect the book to be in the first person and narrated by the male lead. This book is so not from the male POV, this is a book told in the omniscient 3rd person that basically narrates when the male lead is in the scene. And even then sometimes the male lead is not in the scene, how is does that qualifies as been told from the male POV if he s not even on the scene.
