I've noticed how closely a lot of American sign language comes from body language, which is molded largely in part due to culture. So I was thinking the other day, I often see people make that "pfft" face with that sound escaping their lips and I wondered how this look and sound had anything to do with contempt... and then it dawned on me. I saw a horse make the same sound and I realized. HOLY CRAP! That's it!

This book is amazing and extremely helpful. I have always been an intuitive type my whole life but the way I was raised, in retrospect, was to deny my feelings and listen only to words and ignore people's body language. Which led me down a dark path full in self doubt and constant questioning of my own perceptions due to this false belief and more "gas lighting" maneuvers than I would care to admit by my own family.
