Well, this was certainly an unexpected direction for the book to go. All bets are off as far as what's going to happen from here...which I suppose is a good thing. I just feel like too many things have been happening too fast. A little more build up would have been nice. Also, Jake's still a dipshit.

Jake Helman, dirty cop with a coke habit and an apparent dislike for transexuals, is not the most sympathetic of protagonists...the serial killer antagonist almost seems more likable aside from that whole killing innocent people thing. Speaking of which, we're nearly halfway through the book and the killer has hardly done anything and we know too much about him. The only suspense is what will happen when paths cross.
