Often hilarious, sometimes sardonic, I feel as if I'm being gently woofed at by a bulldog, in a way that has you adoring the thing. I don't agree with some of his overt statements on "history" or the political climate, but it is wonderful to read the voice of someone who gives such importance to the written cultural record. Mason has values that I feel myself coming to take more seriously at my foolish age.
