Missed a bit, had to go back. The problem is, the same motifs occur soften that it's hard to pick a word to search for.

Lots of pop culture and pop music allusions, but he also knows how to plot the thing. Now I'm interested in what's going to hapen more than how the author's going to to make it happen.

I've pretty much lived through the creation of this book, as it has been talked about on the author's podcast. Now to see if he can create as well as he critiques.
