Oh gosh they’re talking about how the guy retrieved the gun. THE gun. As if it were special. Confirms my suspicion that the author put too much weight on this... Chekhov’s gun. Not well done at all. The mere FACT that Spider had a gun should’ve been the Chekhov’s gun itself, speaking of his intent and willingness to use firearms later. Sad.

Madison: “She had to have given Spider the gun back, after all, even though she agreed there wouldn’t be any guns on this job. I’d seen her lock it in that desk.”
Hahahaha!

Ridiculous how the characters lent so much importance to the gun being seemingly locked away in a desk drawer, pffft. As if nobody could’ve come back for it, or procured another gun. Guns aren’t such special artifacts in the span of time they had between the locking and the heist’s execution.
