They are now heading back from the Red Thunder to Earth and from Earth on to Mars.

Once they got to Earth they realize that its not that happy of a place anymore because mars and the original ship "Red Lighting" was a thing. They go on a journey armed with a military vertical and guns through the city. They find themselves back at there Uncles house on Earth. They are starting to get used to using Earth type stuff, like eating new foods or getting used to the gravity.

In the beginning it talks about this family that lives on Mars. They are now going to venture back to Earth for the first time.
