1st person present tense is really annoying to read. I couldn't get past the sample of The Strongest Shape for that reason. Only book I've loved written as such is Know Not Why.

Yes, it is really strange. It totally misses its purpose - didn't help the suspense at all in this case. Know not why was really great!
