Fabiola is so brave and she has gone through so much. She had made friends and enemies and even though things haven't been as good, she has been able to be happy. For a while I have been wondering what would the story be like if her mother did come sooner? How different would it be? Would she be able to live a happier life? I hope Fabiola can get to her mother soon and get the happy ending her and her family deserves

I feel like Fabiola might do something soon. She is starting to realize how much wrong there is and I know she is going to make it all right. I still don't like Dray and I'm pretty sure he's the worst character ever. He is the absolute worst. I wonder if Fabiola's mother will come soon because she has worked harder than anyone else and yet she hasn't got much in return and she deserves everything.

There is a lot going on in just a few chapters and it's hard to keep up. I am honestly surprised about what has happened. I guess Dray isn't the absolute worst but I still don't like him. I really hope Fabiola can get her mother back soon too. She has worked so hard and she deserves it. I also wonder if something is going to happen with Aunt Jo soon because she hasn't been brought up in a while.

After reading more and more I dislike Dray more and more. I am so happy that Donna finally realized what was going on and ended it all. I also feel like Fabiola now knows what she's doing and she is doing great. I am so happy for her and how far she has come. I remember a while back Papa Legba told Fabiola to watch out for the woman with the brown coat and the detective has a brown coat. I wonder if she could be bad.

After a while I have noticed how much symbolism is in this book. I love how they use it to represent different things that are part of Fabiola's culture. All the characters keep changing and some I like more and others I absolutely hate. I originally thought Dray was bad but then I thought maybe he was misunderstood, like every stereotypical book. But nope. I absolutely hate him. He is evil. (cont.)

I am just about half way done and some things are starting to come out. I've learned more about all the characters and some of the side ones are starting to seem more important (which makes me happy). I worry that something really bad could happen to Fabiola's friend, Imani, and the detective plans to do something bad. I'm still confused about Dray though. He could be good or bad. I can't really tell.

At this point there is a lot going on. There's bad things, good things, and some really confusing things. It's getting hard to keep up. Besides that, the book is still really good and I enjoy reading it. I am also wondering if one of the characters, Dray, is not what he seems. He acts like he's all mean and bad but he might just be misunderstood. I also feel like an important and good character might not be good.
