interesting reading the chapter on how the strict boarding school education styles as well as tradition for Rooseveltian outdoorsry and elite military service are designed to expose each new generation of the upper class to having to survive on their own without their family's safety nets to fall back on, I recognize all that from the one upper class person I know (a Japanese Australian woman I knew in college)
