if i’m being honest, i can’t remember the quality of this book as i reread it. it feels like it’s lacking something but i can’t put my finger on it. maybe the true reason i truly loved this book years ago is because of the sad ending.

i don’t like this book because of the writing or philosophy or eventual death. i like it because of its stupidity. the outrageous thought of two teenagers loving each other like this and eventually having that ripped away
