This 3rd book follows directly after the events of Illuminate the Shadows.
While I am still enjoying the story, Declan is annoying me in this book. He's acting like a stroppy little boy, all hurt ego & male pride despite him having stated numerous times that his boss, & the father of his lover, Sam, is a manipulative bastart, & that Sam is as much a victim of his father's machinations as Declan is.

Oh thank goodness, Declan's finally pulled his head out of his @$$ and realized that James was playing him against Sam. Declan really _was_ acting like Buttercup there, for a while, all princessy and ugh. Glad to see he's back to his normal loveably gruff self.
