Can hardly put it down even though I just started. I recently watched Dr. Henry Louis Gates' PBS program about RECONSTRUCTION and learned more about that time which heightens my interest in this book. I recommend it already. If you can, go to the PBS website and watch RECONSTRUCTION for excellent background info for this book.
