One important minor character is Tess. She is very loyal to Day. Before Tess came, Day was lonely doing all of the crimes by himself and needed support from a friend. When he found Tess, she helped him a lot by giving him more of a point to life. He knew that she didn’t have a chance at life without him. It turns out that Tess, the girl Day found in the dump, has helped him a lot both mentally and physically.

Legend has the parallel stories of June and Day. Each chapter, the perspective changes between the two of them. They recently met up and the story is still chronological, even though the two people have separate stories.
