So far, this bounces back and forth between the early days of Claude's and Blanche's marriage, from Claude's perspective, and the first days following their return to the Ritz after the Nazis have taken it over in 1940. I like that the hints of an unhappy marriage in Blanche's narrative are sort of explained in Claude's narrative.

There's a cameo by Coco Chanel, for the win. Wasn't she supposedly a Nazi spy?
