Oddly nervous as something is going to happen.
Also I’m being reminded of memories of my trips to Pakistan which I’d forgotten through random words and Changez’s conversation with the man.
The mention of a sickly dog reminded me of the time I insisted my granddad bring home one of his friend’s dogs.
It and the flies living on it’s fur were brought to our living room.

Changrez is sitting and talking to this anonymous American over chai and jasmine flowers and all things quintessentially Pakistani. Why?
