I am glad to have picked this novel up and it is getting me interested in reading more books on slavery. I do believe this is more than a science fiction story, this is more than that. Science Fiction is not really what it is to me. It has a time- travel aspect but it seems to be more historical fiction than sci-fi. It has enlightened me about the struggles that my ancestors faced during that tumultuous time.

Boy oh boy, I am enjoying this novel. Dana is an awesome representation of a great writer. I like how she is similar to Butler in her career choice and the types of jobs that Butler held before she became a full-time writer. This book has some much history info, from the times of slavery that I am learning a lot. The slave owners back then were brutally and I am enjoying how Dana is teaching Rufus about the future.

I am loving this book so far. I had to put down P &P again what can I say I am a mood reader. I read what I feel like it when I want to read something new. But I hope to finish another of Butler's novels. She is great at writing strong female black protagonist. I like to see that 'em girls can kick butt just like us bros. Because as we can see they can, go ahead nah! :)
