It is time to read this classic 1982 short story collection, not only by a Canadian but by a rural Manitoban near enough to my turf! It is fun that I am unfamiliar with the particular pair of towns this novel mentions, which gives it the newness of discovering Aggasiz and Grande Pointe, very close to the American border. At the same time, it is 100% Manitoban and I relate to people's feelings and cultural dynamics.
