Perhaps, if I had read this between Wizard and Glass & Wolves of the Calla, I would have appreciated it more. But, having finished the others and knowing what happened to all of them, I just couldn't put as much importance on this story. Did others find that true, or did most read it in the proper order? I don't know; I found it fun but not great.
