Complexe wereld, doorwrocht ontworpen. Het duurde even voor ik een relatie voelde met de drie hoofdpersonen. Dat is gelukt. Voor een mannelijke schrijver zeer veel ruimte voor sterke en interessante vrouwen. Dit is een evenwichtiger maatschappij (wat dat betreft) dan de onze.

Very deep world building on several levels (political, societal, religious, magical), with all sorts of things hinted at in conversations and thoughts, but not (yet) explained. Kept together by a sense of tension, and of rapid action at a grassroots level, without kings or magicians. Never an info dump.
