It is what you hinted at. She writes loosely, twists all over the place, but it has me fascinated and wanting to read it. I looked up her lecture on Barthes (on Vimeo)-- it was a sort of stream of consciousness swim through images. When she avoids Theory and its jargon, she writes perceptively and coherently.
