The resolution is rather un-60s, though it resumes being completely adorable thereafter. (Why weren't there more Steven and Vicki stories on air? They were a great team.)

The villain's origin story is interesting - but did Rayner really have to turn it all into secret backstory for the villains of 'Galaxy 4'? The connection seems a little tortured.

End of Disc #1: so far, so charming. (The Doctor and the motor-car! Steven and the skeleton! Housebreaking tips from Raffles, Gentleman Thief!)

It may yet spin off the rails into something distractingly un-Hartnell-era-ish, like the fun-but-flawed 'Frostfire' (60s 'Who' just wouldn't have allowed that sort of thing to happen to a non-contemporary London). But if it does, it's at least got this half right.
