What a roller coaster it has been! What a thorough look at the characters and their reasoning. This book is completely black and white; totally to the extreme of one view point without tolerance for the premise of the opposite school of thought. I have mixed feelings. Nonetheless, a handful of admirable examples of human ambition.

Okay I am now enjoying the pants off of this book. Rearden and d'Anconia are truly admirable men. I can even relate to them in a few regards. I love the admiration and homage given to human ambition. The inner dialogue of the protagonists is truly fantastic. This book questions many things and behooves the reader to question so many things. Truly enjoyable. Haven't enjoyed a book like this since Ishmael!

Communism seems to be closing in on our protagonists. The initial bill is turning into several to limit how much and where their corporations can do business. It will produce opportunity, but at what cost? The cost of waste and inefficiency. This will be her example of what communism leads to, but unfortunately, our society has proven that capitalism leads to the same thing. Interesting time in the book.

Enjoying the vivid description of the cognitive and physical journey of the protagonists. I admire their tenacity and audacity in the face of the world that attempts to hold them down. A great testament to human ability. On the other hand, I do not like one bit how it is presenting the stance that the rich are wealthy because of their intellect, but the poor are in poverty because of their derelict work ethic.
