I’ve had two pretty great reads this summer- All Among the Barley and The Leavers. The rest have been mediocre or not at all memorable. What was the last great book you read? I wanna read something that’ll knock me out before the season is done.

Wulf Krueger Oh, yes, „Beartown“ is fantastic.

Kelly Thanks for the great ideas everyone! And what’s even better is that I’ve only read one of them before (Beartown, which I did enjoy!), and haven’t even heard of a couple! Thanks much all!

Taylor I've read some great non-fiction lately, but it's been awhile since I've read fiction that has really bowled me over.

message 9: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Yeah I feel that... I hope both of us end our dry spell there soon.. Any non-fiction things to rec?

message 10: by Taylor (new)

Taylor Attached and Come As You Are were probably my recent favorites, with The State of Affairs as a close third.

message 11: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Oh I’ve been wanting to read Attached! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it. Really have to get to that. I also hadn’t heard of the third one at all so thanks!

Taylor It's really good! It's one of those things that makes so much sense it feels kind of obvious once you catch onto it, but there are some really helpful things in there around communication and reading some more complicated behaviors (what they call "protest behavior") that I found particularly useful/interesting.

Kelly Thanks I will look at that too! PS- as far as fiction... I just finished Embers by Marai and just loved it. What a heartbreaker. Highly recommend adding it to break a fiction dry spell.
