Excellent start. 1st chapter grabbed me from the get-go. A little bit of all that is spooky and fall. From the haunted Lexington House, Halloween spirit, Salem, great characters, Irish crass, Irish legend of the jack-o-lantern and Lizzie Boron-like mystery. Only thing that bugs me is the name of the young man/suspect, Malachi. Too similar to Children of the Corn, scythe and all for me. Otherwise a great start.
