It has a promising start, though I don't like when authors start changing the backstories.
In the first book we are told that his abilities appear after being shot in the head, in this book we are told that he undergoes some experimental whatnot, the decision being made after they consider he is as good as dead, which isn't believable at all really, no one would invest time and millions worth of research in a lost c
