As usual I love Hobb's prose, a few odd sentences but otherwise it just flows brilliantly and I a really engaging read.

Whilst less obvious, I still feel the strand of useless characters and continual misfortune flowing through this same as the first series. The characters are uniformly useless, make continual bone headed decisions and constantly cause themselves issues they don't need to.
