Ahhhhh! AT the close of chapter 9 I am biting my nails and on the edge of my seat! I love how this book has so many mysterious elements. Not generally a fan of mystery novels, I find this is the perfect blend of suspense, literary fiction, drama, and romance. It was a little hard for me to get completely into it in the beginning.I think that was due to a little too much back-and-forth between different characters POV

Ok, it's getting juicy. Really juicy. I love the concept of charity that is so foreign at the time, and how the ideals of the society are so different.

Had to read more, also had to go back and search for Alexander Scott? Who was he gain? I'm glad Genny has become a little more sensitive and less of a snob, although it didnt seem to take much! Haha I'm anxious to see where her courtship with Wills will go.

Definitely getting roped into this...the mystery is in the forefront of my mind. Who stole the emerald and who is this shady character who is now working with a lawyer, Mr. brown to try and join the household at Holmeshire. What are Wills feelings toward Emma?
