Meh. It was okay. I really wish we had gotten to know the characters better. They just didn't come alive for me and I wasn't too invested in them. The story was okay, but I didn't think it was too special. Damsel in distress then tries to become the hero. The courts themselves and their settings were pretty standard and could have been taken right out of lore word by word.

Janet's death was rushed. So much so that I didn't even care, really. It took all of two pages.

I knew there was too much book left for it to end that simply. Not sure where the story is going now. I doubt the two of them can stop whoever is causing that much chaos.

The story just amped up a lot, like A LOT, all at once, but I don't think I like it any better. Still feels shallow Nd lacking in description, plot, and likeability of any of the characters.

Not really feeling any of the characters so far. The story is a bit bland. We haven't seen a lot of faeries so far though, only the one and briefly. I imagine that will change and it will get better.
