Getting better...

I haven't read any of GRRM's stuff, but I have watched Game Of Thrones on HBO. I've heard that he weaves a great story, and is certainly not opposed to killing off favorite characters at the drop of a hat if that's part of the story. However, based on what I've seen on the HBO series, this book series must be awfully complicated to keep track of!
