Wow. Harrowing, indeed.

Whew, this is a long one. It's fairly engaging although it would probably help to have an immediate threat or plot complication thrown in here and there to keep things tense. Instead, the book lingers on each section. It will probably add more to the payoff, but is definitely slowing me down!

The end of part two left me in tears. She is a master of subtext, filling the space between what is being said with a symphony of meanings and emotions.

My book has page 99/100 ripped out. What!?! I checked the rest and it looks like it's the only page. Whew. Section 2 is necessary character development, but it is kind of slow in parts. I admit the author does a good job skipping a lot of unnecessary details, though. And the research on language is impressive.

Wow, that intro was harrowing! Second person perspective made the whole thing *personal*. Very thoughtful, sensitive writing. Eager to see what's next.
