it seems to me
that part of the IDCs’ methodological problem is that they look at complex
processes in a very narrow and reductionist manner which artificially
divorces what is happening at one level from what may be simultaneously
happening at another level

Young Earth Creationists respond to all this by
claiming that either the physicists are simply making mistakes in all their
calculations of the age of the earth and the universe, or else the divine
Creator, for reasons known only to him, just decided to make the universe
look like it’s billions of years old, even though, these Creationists insist, it
really isn’t

Creationists often like to say that mutations can’t possibly have contributed
to the evolution of life-forms because all genetic mutations are harmful
to life and so could not possibly be a source of sustainable new forms of life.
Once again, you guessed it—they don’t know what they’re talking about

Many Creationists like to claim evolution can’t be true because it would
violate the Second Law of Thermodynamics: Wow, are you impressed yet?
This sure sounds scientific doesn’t it?

This is something that is really important to understand
and be aware of: The main way these traditional Creationists try to
“make their case” is not to provide scientific evidence of their own... o all they
can do is try to “poke holes” in the theory of evolution

People who reject
evolution, and who believe that all living species of plants and animals are
completely unrelated to each other, can’t make any real significant breakthroughs
in the modern-day struggle to manage or cure infectious diseases

hominid ancestry ended up “spinning off ” some 200,000 years ago had an
unprecedented capacity to continually modify and restructure its own lifeways,
and just about any aspect of its outside environment, through cultural
means

Recently a number of fossil hominids
dated at about 1.7 to 1.8 million years old
were discovered in the country of Georgia
(between the Black Sea and the Caspian
Sea, near Russia, Turkey, and Iran). It is
not yet clear whether these fossils (commonly
referred to as the Dmanisi fossils and
recently given the scientific name Homo georgicus)
