On page 88 there is an amusing bit of rumination on binary logic, a là Aristotle and Ayn Rand.
Halfway through the book, I can say I do not regard it as “a satiric masterpiece of crossed swords and sorceries.” It is more parodic than satirical, though perhaps I have forgotten the difference.
Mainly, it is fun. This may be my favorite sword-and-sworcery novel I have read so far. Offut writes well, and cheerfully.
