A well-known disaster hits Port Royal--an earthquake, a tsunami and flooding destroy a huge part of the island. Sir Jack and his wife, Marie, lose their daughter and his other children by a servant. He leaves Marie in a state of insanity, and takes their son, Christophe, back to England for an education, and to see what is left of his father's inn and the servants. He presumes they are all dead. They are not!

Abel is reunited with his father, the old servants, his childhood friend, and a surprise--another brother! Turlough was saved by Abel's father, while he was in Constantinople trying to find Abel. They told Christopher Morgan to "take your replacement son and leave"...and in doing so he saved both of their lives. Christian slavery was rampant and a horrible part of the history there. The wicked neighbor is dead.

Abel is left a fortune by the pirate doctor, Ptolemy Moore. He inherits property, slaves and much more, and changes his name to Sir Jack Moore, to escape hanging as a pirate.. He saves a young boy from a ship the pirates take, only to find out she is a girl...a very cunning girl, who manages to marry the young millionaire. They live on his plantation on the famous pirate island, in Port Royal, in Jamaica.
