Review: By page twenty I realized I was holding my face. I debated whether or not I should continue before sleep. This is why I love Poppy Z. Brite. She writes nightmares in lyrical charm and with so few words has her audience holding hands with her characters, breathing their air, feeling their pain, understanding their horror.

love the strong sense of place, the "american" down home sense of description and thr "sound" the story builds from page one.
