“You know, Phoebe,” Lisa said in that voice people used to offer advice that they knew you didn’t want to hear. “If it were me, I’d hold onto a man who did something like this, who cared enough about you to care about your family, too.” Lisa’s words played on repeat in Phoebe’s head as she drove to the Rose Chalet.
