1945-1946 elections were organized based on limited franchise and separate electorate for various religious communities. The Muslim Leage won 75 percent of Muslim vote and all Muslim seats in the constituent assembly. On 15 percent of the population had the right to vote on the basis of literacy, property, income and combatant status.
