Read the first story: The Chapel of Unrest by Stephen Volk. It was not a great story. It lagged in some places but was very descriptive. It probably would work well as a episode on a program like 'Tales from the Crypt' if it were made for TV. It did not evoke for me a sense of terror or horror... Mainly because the story about the prison in Ushpur was not expanded. The ending was predictable.

The next story was "Grist" by Zak Jarvis. Unique, science fiction-type short story that was actually quite intriguing. The biggest issue I had with it was that it felt like a chapter within a bigger framework. It was a bit hard to figure out exactly what was going on. By the time I reached the conclusion, I felt that pieces of the puzzles were missing and/or quite blurry and required more expansion/explanation.

The 4th story is Carpool by Gregory Norris. I really enjoyed this story until the end. The story wrapped up in a way that I didn't expect and I felt it left too many questions unanswered. It gave the feel of a cop-out in which the author rushed the ending. Unfortunate, as the rest of the story was intriguing.
