Hmm.... something I didn't think would happen ... did ..... Dorothy Dunnett surprised me. I never know what she is going to have the characters do! Great read, on with the next, and sadly, the last.

This is a much easier read than the previous books in the series. I'm enjoying Philippa's sympathetic view of Queen Mary of England. While she may have been "bloody", her father certainly killed many more .....
