S- this was an interesting way to end the book. Mom wants to hear all about what happened when she was gone. Rosie, in her childlike manner, explains everything in a nutshell.

Sam was lost on the trip. Judy was worried sick about him. Mrs. S.J asks the, to come in to apologize in person. Judy feels so much guilt to tell her daughter, even though he’s safe.

V- obstinate: stubbornly refusing to change one's opinion or chosen course of action, despite attempts to persuade one to do so. This is a word that mike called Judy when he was explaining his input.

C- “He dips a couple of fries into a puddle of ketchup” reminded me of my cousin when we were younger. In the book, Sam begged Judy to go to McDonald’s so they compromised because she needed caffeine so she bought a coffee. My cousin was a very picky eater and always used way too much ketchup. Sam reminded me of him because I would be disgusted seeing my cousin consume that much ketchup as Judy was.

Grandma Judy is not too worried about Sam going on a school trip. Moms and dads are crying while Judy is calm... until she sees Sam throwing up in a bag while she’s waving goodbye to him on the coach bus.

I- although it’s life, this page made me uncomfortable. Mike and Judy talk about their middle-age sex life. But I did feel happy for Judy because she felt comfortable with him even though her body isn’t as great as it used to be. When she was young, she criticized her own body even though she had no flaws at a perfect weight. Now that she found Mike, she does not care how she looks like.

Mike insists that Judy and him should take things slow. He believes she needs time to arrange her emotions.

S- On their date, Judy eats onion soup in awe of how fancy the restaurant is. On the way home, he tries to please her by playing her favorite kind of music (ABBA). She kisses him on the cheek saying they should have another date. Theirs went very well.

Mike, the man grandma Judy met is the person who is keeping her stable. Tanya tells her to go out on a date with him because she’s stressed out.

S- “Mum” and dad come home. Rosie tells on Sam saying he was misbehaving by playing with fireworks with his friends mason and Tyler. The mother gets angry at grandma Judy because Sam could’ve gotten hurt.
