So far the fountainhead is a character vs society story and Howard Roark is the character. He is faced with the society/city not caring or taking in anything he does. But he does not care for it and it doesn’t seem to affect him. The town doesn’t look at any of his sketches, they also don’t pay attention to the jobs he has at the unpopular firm or his job at the Francon quarry.

Peter Keating is the antagonist, and Howard Roark is the protagonist. Peter graduated from the station institute and has a leading job at a popular firm, but Howard got expelled and has a low paying job at an un popular firm that is looked down upon. Roark is more talented but no one appreciates it yet. Peter often comes to Roark and asks for help but he knows that Roark is better.

Peter graduated from the staton institute of architecture and got a job at a famous firm, Roark got expelled and has a low paying job at a unpopular firm that its looked down upon. Peter also had options to go to boux de arts in Paris for a 4 year scholarship. Peter is less skilled than Roark but no one appreciates Roarks talent.

What the story is about and how it is written determines the genres and sub genres of the book. The genre and sub genres are, adventure and realistic fiction. The tone is thoughtful and day to day life, the setting is New York City in the 1960’s. The plot is for the character to become a better architect and help his friend. These Genres are here because they fit with how the book is written can’t and how it sounds.
