Ooo I bet Readen's not as in the clear of the Itza's control as he thought - I hope we get to see how THAT goes from his POV next book, as he's becoming quite interesting!
I know Tessa and Galen have been dancing around their feelings for each other, but the depth of that scene still feels a bit forced.
I wish there was a bit more of the 'old' Marta & Altan here - they seem a bit TOO settled now. The scar story: XD

I like that we're getting to know Cedar - she's pretty fun! I like her attitude and lookout on life and friendships, too.

Yup, Galen's arc coming to terms with his role as Kern is just as complex as I hoped it would be :)
That was also quite a surprise about Kishar!
Also, for a 400-odd day year, these tendays sure do pass fast! Winter seemed so short, and I don't know where spring/summer went, because now we're already into the first signs of fall!!

Has it been that long since I updated?!
I am SO STOKED about what's happening to Galen, I love reading about how someone finds an 'otherness' growing inside them, and how they wrap their head around it, to what extent they embrace, question, or fight it.
Tessa is more accepting of her changes, but then, she grew up with the legends. Her fear and feelings of inadequacy make her situation parallely engaging.

Ah, so the stocks Marta's dad left her do come back!
I think I mostly see what caused Tessa's channels to become blocked, but I'm a bit less sure exactly how her mom's early death figures into it/relates to the dead bird.
