I'm curious to see what this has to do with a book that is, according to the blurb, some sort of vaguely Rear Window meets No Angels story. Maybe it's just stuck on the front because Dreyer thought it looked smart. God knows I've done that.

I mean, it’s mostly really good. I just can’t get over the weird Jamaican thing. Is it racist? Is there some kind of quirky biography thing that I missed? It’s jusy so distracting and terrible.

What is with this detective character with the really terrible Jamaican accent? Aren’t they supposed to be in St Louis or something? Or is this some sort of ‘all black people sound like they’re fresh off the boat from kingston’ thing?
