The Haunting of Maddy Clare, hands down. It’s followed by The Night Sister.

Rats in the Walls and The Haunter of the Dark, by H.P. Lovecraft. A lot of his stories may or may not work for you, but these two seriously give me the creeps.
The Shining by Stephen King and most Poe stories with a special shout out for Cask of Amontillado and La Rue Morgue.
I think the name is Ask Michelle. Came out in late 70s, early 80s. Besides being creepy to read the book kept showing up places it shouldn't be.
Hill house by Shirley Jackson, The woman in black by Susan Hill. A frost of cares by Amy Rae Durreson.
Silence of the Lambs. I had to stop reading I was so scared.
The Exorcist, Evil Stalks the Night, The Day of Legion, Heart Shaped Box, Shades of Souls Passed, and almost anything by Lovecraft. Also, House of Leaves, but that's a major commitment of time and effort.
