Hmm... Not really enjoying the narrator's voice in this one so far. Seems a bit snobbish to me. Plus there's a whole lot of "telling" and not a whole lot of "showing". I'll read a little bit more to see if it gets better...

Snobbish was the wrong word. The narrator's voice seems pretentious to me.
