and on top of that, jani was getting away with sitting on the parking lot asphalt. this behaviors needs to not be tolerated. >:(

WHAT? Now this is showing signs of more family dysfunction than I anticipated... Jani tries to hit honey, and Michael cant let honey off the leash because honey will attack their friends. They cant even raise a dog to be nonviolent. there is seriously a parenting failure component to jani's behavior.

Fantastic strength on Michael's part! They're going to win this!!!

It seems to me so far that the parents are so desperate for peace in the moment that they will do anying to make Jani happy, which in the long run teaches her that she can get away with anything, furthering Jani's lack of empathy and care for consequences. I knownthat a lot of Jani's behaviors are completely outside her own control, but I think it's important to keep trying to impose structure and rules for Jani.

Wow, I absolutely CANNOT put this book down!
