Whew! This is chockfull of information! Prologue: Maou's past; him meeting Laila. Kisaki gets some character development. Maou makes contact with a demon (and for some reason a sephirat like Alas Ramus) who want him to come back and lead the armies. He says no. He also acts very demon-kingy!

Emi is also getting lots of character development in the wake of the previous book's revelations about her parents. She and Maou almost have a huge argument, which is interrupted, ugh.

Ashiya, during a strategy meeting including Sariel (who has fallen FAR, and luckily is ultimately forgiven by Kisaki) acts like a legit demon general, which is pretty dang cool. I want to see Rika soon. She hasn't been in this book at all. Chi also learns how to use holy force, namely an idea link, which is a good (if slightly shocking) idea. Suzuno, to get her to reply mentally, asks if she wants to marry Maou, LOL.
