My husband and I are listening to this as an audiobook. We really enjoy it so far, which I think is largely due to the audiobook narrator, Steven Weber. He does a fantastic job. The book is it’s own monster, and we’re having a hard time getting through it. We need to take a few more road trips to get through the next 32.5 hours.

Still loving the narrator, but I’m disliking the parts of the book pertaining to Mike and Beverly. Re: Mike, I’m not into hearing/reading racial slurs, especially coming from white men. Re: Beverly, much of King’s characterization reads like further abuse of an abused character. Her thoughts about herself, especially descriptions of her body (immature breasts=apples?) sound like a creepy male fantasy. No good.
